How we handle your information
What Fusion collects when you enquire, book or browse — why we collect it, who sees it, and how to get it back or have it corrected.
Fusion Painting & Roofing paints houses and looks after roofs across metropolitan Adelaide. To do that we need some information about you and your property. This policy sets out exactly what we collect, why, who else sees it, and the control you have over it. Plain English, no surprises.
01
Who we are and what this policy covers
Fusion Painting & Roofing Pty Ltd (ABN 66 686 860 293) — referred to in this policy as we, us or our — provides residential house painting and roof maintenance services across metropolitan Adelaide, South Australia. We hold South Australian building work contractor licence BLD 344503 and building work supervisor licence BLD 343941.
We operate under our company name. Where this website uses the shorter form Fusion, it refers to Fusion Painting & Roofing Pty Ltd.
This policy applies to personal information we handle through this website (fusionpaintingroofing.com.au), by phone, SMS and email, through our enquiry form and our online booking system, and in the course of quoting for and carrying out work at your property.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Some small businesses are exempt from parts of that Act. Whether or not the exemption applies to us at any given time, we have chosen to treat the APPs as our standard.
Personal information means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.
02
The information we collect
The information we hold depends on how you deal with us. In general it includes:
Identity and contact details
Your name, email address, phone number, the address of the property the work relates to, your postal address if different, and your preferred contact method.
Property and job information
Property type, the condition you have described, photographs of the property or the problem, roof and surface details, access arrangements, colour and finish selections, quotes issued, work carried out, materials used, and any warranty or defect history.
Booking information
The service you selected, requested dates and times, appointment history, and any notes you add when booking.
Payment information
Invoice and receipt records, amounts, payment references and payment status. Card payments are processed by our payment provider — we do not store your full card number or security code.
Correspondence
Enquiry form submissions, emails, SMS messages, and notes we make of phone conversations about your job.
Reviews and feedback
Your name or display name, rating, review text, and any photos you choose to submit or post publicly about our work.
Technical and usage information
IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, time on page, approximate location derived from IP, and interactions with the site collected through cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for the detail.
We do not seek sensitive information such as health, racial or religious details. If you volunteer something sensitive — for example an accessibility or health matter that affects how we access or work on your property — we use it only for that purpose and only with your consent.
03
How we collect it
- Directly from you — when you complete our enquiry form, make an online booking, call or text us, email us, meet us for an on-site quote, sign a quote or contract, or leave feedback.
- Automatically — through cookies, pixels and similar technologies when you use this website, subject to the consent choices described in section 5.
- From third parties — Setmore, the platform that runs our online booking; Google Business Profile, for reviews and enquiries that arrive through Google; referral partners; and property managers, strata managers, landlords or builders who engage us on your behalf.
- From public sources — occasionally, publicly available property information where we need to verify a site before quoting.
If someone else provides us with your details — for example a landlord booking work at a tenanted property — we ask them to confirm they have your permission to do so. If you would prefer we did not hold your details in that situation, tell us and we will deal with the person who engaged us instead, so far as the job allows.
You can deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym for general questions. We cannot quote for, schedule or carry out work at a property without knowing who you are and where the property is.
04
Why we collect and use it
We collect and use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and prepare quotes and estimates;
- schedule, supervise and carry out painting and roof maintenance work;
- keep you informed about your job — arrival times, weather delays, variations and completion;
- issue invoices, take payment and follow up unpaid accounts;
- meet our obligations under the Building Work Contractors Act 1995 (SA), the Australian Consumer Law, work health and safety law, and tax and record-keeping law;
- manage warranty claims, defect rectification, insurance claims and disputes;
- publish reviews and testimonials, where you have consented;
- maintain and improve this website, and measure how our marketing performs;
- show you relevant advertising on third-party platforms, only where you have consented to advertising cookies;
- keep business records and back-ups.
We will only use your personal information for these purposes, for a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, for another purpose you have consented to, or where required or authorised by law.
05
Cookies, analytics and advertising
This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are strictly necessary — for example the Cloudflare Turnstile check that stops our enquiry form being spammed. Others are optional and are only used where you consent:
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4, so we can see which pages are useful and where people get stuck.
- Advertising and measurement — Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel, so we can measure and target advertising for our services.
Optional cookies are switched off until you accept them. You can change your mind at any time using the control, or by clearing cookies in your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done while consent was in place.
Full detail — including each cookie's purpose and how long it lasts — is in our Cookie Policy.
06
Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only where it is necessary. The categories of recipient are:
- Subcontractors and tradespeople we engage to carry out or assist with your job — they receive your name, property address, contact number and the job details they need.
- Suppliers — paint, coatings and materials suppliers, where we order a specific product or colour for your property, or arrange delivery to site.
- Service providers — website hosting, email, Setmore (our online booking platform), accounting and invoicing software, and payment processors.
- Analytics and advertising platforms — Google, Meta and TikTok, where you have consented to the relevant cookies.
- Insurers, brokers, assessors and legal advisers — if a claim, defect or dispute arises.
- Government bodies and regulators — including Consumer and Business Services SA, SafeWork SA, the Australian Taxation Office, and courts or tribunals, where required or authorised by law.
- A purchaser — if we sell or restructure the business, subject to the buyer agreeing to handle the information consistently with this policy.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
07
Online bookings
You can book an appointment with us online. Our booking system is operated by Setmore, a third-party scheduling platform.
When you make a booking, the details you enter — your name, contact details, the property address, the service you have chosen and your preferred time — are collected through Setmore and made available to us. Setmore handles that information as our service provider, under its own privacy policy as well as this one. You can read it at setmore.com/privacy.
Setmore relies on its own sub-processors to deliver parts of the service, including hosting, SMS appointment reminders, email confirmations and customer support. Booking information may therefore be processed outside Australia — see section 9.
You do not have to use the online system. You can book by phone on 0469 745 442, by email, or through our enquiry form, and we will hold only the details you give us directly.
Making a booking does not create a contract for the work itself. Quotes, prices and job terms are covered by our Terms & Conditions.
We may move to a different booking platform. If we do, we will update this section and our Cookie Policy with the new provider's name and a link to its privacy policy.
08
Reviews and testimonials
We collect and publish customer reviews. They reach us two ways: through our Google Business Profile, and directly through this website.
- Google reviews are public. Anything you post there is visible to anyone and is governed by Google's terms and privacy policy, not ours. We can reply to a review but we cannot delete it — only you or Google can.
- Reviews submitted directly to us may be published on this website. Unless you tell us otherwise, we publish first name and suburb only — not your full name, street address or contact details.
- We may shorten a review for length or remove personal details, but we will not edit it in a way that changes its meaning or rating.
- You can withdraw a testimonial from this website at any time by emailing us, and we will remove it within a reasonable period.
Please do not include other people's personal information, or anything defamatory or unlawful, in a review. We may decline to publish reviews that do.
09
Overseas disclosure
Some of the service providers we rely on store or process data outside Australia. Based on our current providers, personal information may be handled in:
| Provider | Purpose | Likely locations |
|---|---|---|
| Setmore | Online appointment booking | United States and other countries where its hosting and messaging providers operate |
| Analytics, Business Profile, advertising | United States and other countries where Google operates | |
| Meta | Advertising measurement | United States, Ireland |
| TikTok | Advertising measurement | United States, Singapore, Ireland |
| Cloudflare | Anti-spam and site delivery | Global network, including the United States |
| Website and email hosting | Running this site and our mailbox | Australia, United States |
Where we disclose personal information overseas we take steps that are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, as required by APP 8. By providing your information you acknowledge that overseas recipients may not be subject to Australian privacy law and that, in some cases, you may not be able to seek redress under that law.
10
How we keep it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Those steps include:
- encrypted connections (HTTPS) across this website;
- access controls and strong authentication on the accounts and systems that hold customer information;
- limiting access to the people who need it to do their job;
- using reputable, established providers for hosting, booking, accounting and payments;
- confidentiality expectations on staff and subcontractors;
- secure destruction or de-identification of information we no longer need.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
11
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires:
| Record | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that do not proceed | Around 2 years, then deleted |
| Quotes not accepted | Around 2 years, then deleted |
| Job records and contracts | At least 7 years for tax purposes, and generally longer given statutory warranty periods for building work |
| Invoices and payment records | At least 7 years |
| Warranty and defect records | For the life of the applicable warranty plus a reasonable period |
| Marketing lists | Until you unsubscribe, then a suppression record only |
| Website analytics | Per the retention setting of the analytics provider, typically 14 months |
When information is no longer needed we destroy it or de-identify it.
12
Access and correction
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
Email azi@fusionpaintingroofing.com.au with the subject line "Access request" or "Correction request". We will:
- ask you to verify your identity, so we do not give your details to someone else;
- respond within 30 days;
- provide the information free of charge in most cases — if a request is large or complex we may charge a reasonable cost-recovery fee, and we will tell you before doing any work;
- explain our reasons in writing if we refuse, and tell you how to complain.
You can also ask us to delete information we hold about you. We will do so unless we are required to keep it — for example tax records, or job records that may be relevant to a warranty claim.
13
Direct marketing
We may occasionally send you information about our services, seasonal maintenance reminders, or offers — by email or SMS — where you have given us your details and it is within your reasonable expectations, or where you have consented.
Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe option. You can also reply STOP to an SMS, or email us at any time, and we will remove you from marketing within 5 business days.
Messages about a job you have booked or work we have done — appointment confirmations, arrival times, delays, invoices, warranty notices — are not marketing and will continue while your job is active.
14
Children
This website and our services are directed at property owners and occupiers, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
15
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information or breached the Australian Privacy Principles, tell us first — we would rather fix it directly.
Email azi@fusionpaintingroofing.com.au with "Privacy complaint" in the subject line, and set out what happened. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and give you a written response within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:
- Website: oaic.gov.au
- Phone: 1300 363 992
- Post: GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001

Changes to this policy
We update this policy as our business and the tools we use change — for example if we change booking or review providers, or add a new analytics or advertising tool. The current version is always on this page with the last updated date shown alongside. Where a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention.
